Lately I’ve been very interested in large scale lettering, and am trying to practice some letter forms in the pursuit of a sort of mixed style that i can adapt into my own through lot’s of studies, and proceed with them on a larger scale. Below is the first large scale study ,( about 9 feet by 5), although the Letter forms were not real blackletter forms, this was merely a study of scale and tools. It took me a while to figure out the perfect brush , in order to produce those great looking sharp edges. The rest of those pieces are more studies on a smaller scale done at home on butcher paper, strictly to get comfortable with the letter forms. More large scale lettering soon to come.
